MISSION

The City of Lennox and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will work in cooperation with the community to provide an opportunity to learn and develop the basic mental and physical skills of various recreational activities. We are committed to fostering a sense of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and the rewards of effort to promote positive social, emotional, and physical development in our participants. It is also our goal to help create positive memories that will last a lifetime and transfer to success in all areas of life.

OBJECTIVES

Our programs seek to achieve the following objectives:

• The development of healthy lifestyles for residents
• A greater appreciation for all aspects of recreational programming, including sportsmanship, competition, and teamwork.

While the Park Board does not fulfill a policy-setting role, the Board does provide recommendations to the City Council for their consideration including assessments of public parks, assistance with park design, annual budgets,  and funding improvements.  Members of the Board also play a role in supporting the Adult and Youth Recreation programs within the City of Lennox. 

The Board volunteers their time with regular meetings throughout the year to ensure the success of existing programs and projects while focusing on continued development of the Parks and Rec department.  These meetings are open to the public for suggestions.
